questions, troubleshooting, and how to reach us
hi. ember is a small app made by a small team — questions, bugs, and gentle suggestions all land in the same inbox, and we read every one.
the people you care about become embers around a campfire. tend them and they glow; neglect them and they cool. no streaks, no day counts, no scoreboards — just a quiet scene that tells you who could use a hello.
apple owns subscription cancellation, so the path is in iOS Settings: tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → ember glow → Cancel Subscription. it'll keep working until your current period ends, and your embers stay put.
subscriptions are tied to the Apple ID that bought them. in ember: Settings → "Already subscribed?" or the "Restore purchases" link at the bottom of the paywall. if you used a different Apple ID, sign into that one first via iOS Settings.
ember only sends nudges between 6pm and 9pm in your local time — by design, never during your workday or wind-down. if it's evening and they're still not arriving, check two switches:
only on your device. no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no third-party trackers. the App Store privacy label says "Data Not Collected" because that's literally true.
not yet — ember is local-only at launch. what you add on one device stays on that device for now. sync is on the roadmap.
yes — your embers live with the app. if you want to step back from ember glow but keep what you have, cancel the subscription instead of deleting (see "how do i cancel"). you'll keep your first 5 embers on the free tier.
not yet — export and sync are paired on the roadmap. they'll arrive together.
tap the ember on your hearth, then tap Edit in their detail sheet. you can change the cadence (how often you want to think of them), pause them for a while, or remove them entirely from there.
crashes are the worst. first try force-quitting (swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then flick the ember card off the top), then reopen. if it persists, email support@sierrahotel.me with what you were doing and which device you're on — that's all we need to track it down.
not yet. iPhone and iPad first; Watch and Android are on the long-term plan. we'd rather get one platform right than three platforms half-right.
email support@sierrahotel.me — we read every message, and we try to write back within a couple of days.
